The patient’s role is changing. The caregiver’s role is changing.

Old known outsiders are taken into account when we talk about care and prevention. What are the consequences hereof for the organization of health care. What will we consider important and on what starting points are we going to build new care organizations (if we are going to do so at all).

Building visionary care organization sforthe future asksfor two things: avision and leadership. Leader ship in health care is actually seen as management, a controlling role. Before we explained that it is no longer sufficient to think on the basis of control and avoiding risks. Cooperation and sharing knowledge are the only way to continue to take part in the health care process. A smoothly running electronic patient file and advanced communication techniques can help in this process.

The healthcare sector has its core purpose: good health for all human beings. However, the vision as to how this core purpose can and should be realized is changing. Right now, the care sector optimizes in manageability: risk prevention is rampant and ownership of treatment is still in the medical establishment. Not only the choice of treatment but also the choice of the therapist is something about which the patient has no say.

Because the ownership of the treatment lies with the therapist, the latter is also responsible. The choice to strive for minimum risk is therefore a strive for minimum responsibility and minimum claim on the responsibility of the therapist.

Our Vision

To begin with we must realize that elsewhere things are not as well arranged as in the Netherlands.

The millennium goals for health care for a Dutchman may be less than the minimum he would accept but are not achieved worldwide.

Also in less prominent areas parts of the world are at a disadvantage. Medicine for example is mainly tested in the Western world. In the Western world lactose as an additive is not a problem because a person is raised on cow milk.

However, the rest of the world cannot consume lactose. For them, those medicaments are useless. The application of food supplements instead of medicine is becoming a trend 1

Insights and treatment modalities are different all over the world. What may seem completely normal and founded in one part of the world may be viewed exotic and inexplicable in another part. A Dutchman may look pityingly at a medicine man using untested ‘medicine’, whereas the medicine man looks the same way at the Dutchman repairing a body without purifying the patient’s sole. Healthcare can reinforce itself worldwide if we are ready to have confidence in the usefulness of insights and methods of others. In years to come we will have to approach each other more and more on the basis of cooperation. That way we will be able to join the best care of different parts of the world. The so called holistic way of thinking in healthcare is gradually establishing itself.

We are Tulip Care International, a supplier of certified mouth masks, founded 6 years ago in a social character by our founders Turgay Esin and Arnold in Wierik. Arnold Te Wierik, now 70 years old, was even knighted in the Netherlands for his social contribution last month.

Tulip Care International has been operating in the medical world since its inception, and in that capacity we have called upon our reliable supplier network to purchase additional (para) medical equipment due to the COVID19 pandemic. Initially, our intention was to solve the shortages of oral masks and other necessary material in the hospitals.
